Sign Language

The use of sign by children and adults with Autism has long been used as an alternate means of communication for autistics that lack the capability to use actual speech.  Recent studies have show that sign language used in conjunction with speech therapy has actually led to vocalization capabilites in children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
